Go West young woman!  Almost two decades ago, I forged out alone, with $400 in my pocket and skis over my shoulder to a place that I had envisioned since I was a teen.  Intent on manifesting a place that existed only in an advertisement for the State of Colorado that hung on my closet door until the tape had turned yellow and the edges were curled, I landed in Steamboat Springs.  Like so many before me, I had ventured into the unknown with a hope for adventure and a better life.  It is rough out here in Colorado with no truly good deli’s or bagels (yes, it’s the NYC water).  Oh, but the scenery.  And the air.  And the quaking Aspens in Fall.  And the snow that sparkles all winter under the crystal blue Colorado sky.

There is something magical about this place.  It’s a place many come to play and some to stay.  I was one of them.  I created a life from the thin air that is full of the riches of this land, adventure, learning, sharing, loving.
